Job Duties And Responsibilities

Job Duties And Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end recruitment process including job postings, screening, interviewing, selection, and offer negotiation for both exempt and non-exempt roles.
- Execute comprehensive recruitment strategies to attract, evaluate, and hire top talent aligned with organizational priorities.
- Proactively identify qualified candidates through a variety of channels including job boards, industry-specific networks, trade schools, career fairs, social media, and referrals.
- Partner with project managers and operations to understand upcoming labor needs and timelines for marine construction projects and develop job descriptions.
- Develop and maintain pipelines for hard-to-fill and high-turnover roles, especially field crews, welders, pile drivers, crane operators, and marine laborers.
- Coordinate and participate in recruiting events, including college career fairs and industry outreach initiatives, while cultivating relationships with educational institutions and training programs to strengthen the talent pipeline.
- Facilitate weekly new hire orientations and oversee all onboarding activities, ensuring documentation accuracy and completion of drug tests, physicals, and safety training.
- Oversee pre-employment processes, including background checks, drug screenings, certifications, and compliance with company policies.
- Ensure all recruiting practices align with EEO, OFCCP, and company policies. Maintain accurate and complete documentation in the applicant tracking system (ATS).
- Communicate regularly with candidates and hiring managers to provide updates and facilitate a positive hiring experience.
- Assist and support general HR inquiries and employee needs.
- Manage recruiting email inbox and coordinate with payroll on hiring updates.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Education: Must have a valid driver’s license. Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience: Five (5) years of full-cycle recruiting experience, preferably in construction, skilled trades, or heavy civil/marine industries.
- Knowledge/Skills/Abilities (KSA): Must possess proficiency in LinkedIn Talent Solutions, and other sourcing platforms, familiarity with social media recruiting and digital sourcing techniques. Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and familiarity with HRIS systems, with the ability to quickly learn new web-based applications. Must have strong written and verbal communication skills in English required, with the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, and candidates. Proven ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Must demonstrate strong organizational skills and attention to detail to ensure accurate candidate tracking and compliance with hiring procedures. Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and maintain confidentiality in handling sensitive recruitment data.
- Certification(s): SHRM-Certified Professional, SHRM-Senior Certified Professional, or SHRM’s Talent Acquisition Specialty Credential.
- Experience: Seven (7) years of full-cycle recruiting experience, preferably in construction, skilled trades, or heavy civil/marine industries.
- Knowledge/Skills/Abilities (KSA): General knowledge and skills in marine operations, such as pile driving, welding, crane operations, barges, etc. General knowledge and understanding of basic construction terms and concepts. Bilingual in Spanish and English. General knowledge in conducting pre-employment screenings, including scheduling drug tests, background checks, physicals, and safety council training.
