Project Engineer – Municipal & Infrastructure Projects
Allentown, PA (and surrounding areas) | Full-Time | Salary: $95,000 (negotiable)
We’re looking for an experienced Project Engineer with 10–15 years of expertise in civil and municipal engineering to join our team. In this role, you’ll design and manage a wide range of infrastructure projects for municipalities, school districts, and private developers. Projects may include roadways, underground utilities, public buildings, recreational facilities, and land use applications. You’ll work closely with clients, lead projects from concept to completion, and ensure quality results every step of the way.
What You’ll Do
- Serve as the primary client manager for one or more municipalities or public agencies, acting as the single point of contact.
- Oversee and coordinate all firm projects for assigned clients, ensuring satisfaction and project success.
- Develop and implement innovative engineering solutions to improve and maintain public infrastructure.
- Design transportation, utility, facility, or hydraulic systems using CAD and other engineering tools.
- Prepare estimates for materials, equipment, labor, and project feasibility studies.
- Analyze surveys, maps, blueprints, aerial photography, and geologic data to guide design decisions.
- Conduct traffic and environmental studies to identify challenges and assess project impacts.
- Ensure all design work complies with environmental, safety, and governmental regulations.
- Represent municipalities as the Municipal Engineer or Land Use Board Engineer in public meetings, preparing and presenting reports on bid proposals, project updates, and development reviews.
- Provide technical guidance during construction phases, including field support, shop drawing reviews, and client coordination.
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.
- PE License (Professional Engineer) – required.
- Municipal engineering experience preferred.
- Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to present to the public.
- Proficient in CAD and other design software.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects.
- Comfortable working independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
