Teacher: Music/Band

Barstow Memorial School is accepting applications for an enthusiastic, innovative, and collaborative teacher. We have a FTE of 1 available and are creatively posting should interested candidates have sole interest in band or music the opportunity may exist to split the role to allow for a fill of 40% in Band or Music, apply appropriately based on schedule and interest. Our need for coverage is immediate. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: Ability to meet the basic competencies and qualifications of the endorsement(s) as listed in the Regulations Governing the Licensing of Educators and the Preparation of Educational ProfessionalsCommitment to the success of all students and experience providing modifications/accommodations as neededAbility to use a variety of approaches to establish a safe, caring classroom community and respectful learning environment for studentsKnowledge of best practices and school-wide student management protocols (i.e., Responsive Classroom, Multi-Tier Support System, and PBIS) Ability to integrate technology into the learning environmentAbility to build the current band and chorus programs to increase student involvementAbility to communicate and collaborate with staff, students, parents and community membersAbility to use formative assessment to provide student feedback and guide instructionReflective in teaching practices and skilled in organization, planning, written and oral communication, and collaborationAbility to interact respectfully and collegially with colleaguesAbility to participate on a team in contribution to promoting a positive school cultureMaintain records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulationsDesire and enthusiasm to maintain traditions as well as offer new opportunities to studentsExperience in organizing and directing performances, including theatrical performancesRequired Qualifications: Holds or is eligible to hold a Vermont Teaching License with PK-12 music endorsementInterested candidates should apply on schoolspring.com to: Bob MyersPrincipal
