Job Overview:
The Nutritionist, RD provides optimal nutrition services as an integral part of the healthcare system.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor's or advanced degree with major studies in Food and Nutrition- or Dietetics
- RD or RDN Certification or eligible within 6 months of hire
Preferred:
- Previous clinical experience
Scheduling Requirements:
- Day Shift
- Part-Time
- 20 hours per week
Essential Functions:
- Assess patient nutritional status, develop and implement nutritional care plans and educate patients and family members about prescribed diets and nutritional information
- The Clinical Dietitian serves a patient population covering pediatrics to geriatrics
- Responsible for the assessment/reassessment of patients at nutritional risk as per the standards of CMS, NJDOH, TJC, education/documentation in the EMR for all patients at nutrition risk as well as documentation of ASPEN criteria for malnutrition
- Competency includes order-writing privileges for diets and tube feedings
- Responsible for reporting identified safety issues such as hazardous environments. i, e, damaged floors, walls, ceiling tiles, unsecured areas and medical errors, etc.
- Perform other Duties as assigned
