What are the responsibilities and job description for the Low Voltage Cabling Technician position at Rx Technology?
We are looking for individuals who have strong aptitude for learning, strong computer and math skills, are self sufficient as well as be able to perform in a team setting. In addition they should have great customer service and trouble shooting skills. Work ethic is paramount.
This position performs installation of commercial network and low voltage infrastructure wiring as well as the testing, labeling and trouble shooting of wiring problems. The following are some of the tasks and duties that will be required:
*Installation of data equipment, including data racks, patch panels, cable trays etc.
*Perform cabling installations, including new commercial data (Cat 3, 5e, 6), voice, fiber optic etc. in new and existing buildings.
*Drive company vehicle and operate a variety of tools such as hand and power tools, ladders, scissor lifts and testing equipment.
*Provide education to customers on the proper use of all installed equipment and address customer concerns.
Adhere to safety policies and procedures and report all accidents, hazards and equipment problems. Complete required paperwork such as installation checklist, timesheets, service orders, and various other logs.
*Works at heights, on poles, in small confined spaces, outdoors and in inclement weather conditions.
*Installs devices for alarm, access control, A/V and other systems.
*Self motivated and team spirit. Time management skills.
*Must have valid Driver's license, clean driving record, and dependable transportation.
*Must pass a security background check to obtain a TOPS security license.
*Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
