Intermediate level CPA needed. At least 2-3 years business tax experience required. Senior level and partnership opportunity in short to medium term.

The ideal candidate must be able to prepare business and non-profit tax returns. Audit experience would be a plus. Experience with UltraTax is also a plus.

For over 30 years, Ryan, Geer, Field, and Rhodes PLLC has provided quality, personalized financial guidance to local individuals and businesses in South Charlotte. Our main services offerings are tax return preparation and planning, and full service accounting, bookkeeping and fractional CFO services. We also do business valuations and are looking to grow this area.

Due to our growth, we are currently seeking an experienced CPA in the greater Charlotte, NC area. The position offers a large degree of independence and a dedicated office will be provided. As a senior position staff supervision and delegation will be required. We have full remote functionality for all team members although most still work in-office most of the time. The position can transition to partnership in the short to medium term.

In this position as CPA, you will be responsible for efficient preparation of business and non-profit tax returns utilizing forms 1120, 1120-S, 1065, and 990 as well as reviewing related individual and trust tax returns. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles, balance sheets and possess excellent organizational and communication skills.

CPA Responsibilities:

  • Complete and review Business and Non-profit Tax Returns primarily as well as supervision of related personal and trust returns for your clients

  • Assist and advise staff on related accounting and tax issues in conjunction with current partners
  • Preparation of Reviewed and Compiled financial statements

  • Stay up to date with relevant accounting regulations and best practices.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A CPA or Masters in Accounting with a plan to take the CPA exam within a year

  • At least 2 tax seasons experience with business tax return preparation
  • Proficiency UltraTax tax software
  • A solid understanding of accounting principles and practices
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • The ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • A self-starter mentality, with the ability to work independently
  • A customer-centric approach
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to engage professionally with clients
