Position: Electrical Foreman

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Foreman to oversee and coordinate electrical projects from start to finish. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical systems, leadership skills, and the ability to manage a team of electricians and subcontractors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and lead a team of electricians, ensuring work is completed safely and efficiently.
  • Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
  • Plan, assign, and schedule daily tasks for the team.
  • Ensure compliance with electrical codes, safety regulations, and company policies.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues on-site.
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other trades to ensure smooth workflow.
  • Maintain accurate records of work completed, materials used, and project progress.
  • Train and mentor apprentices and junior electricians.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or apprenticeship preferred.
  • Valid [state or local] electrical license (if required).
  • 8 years of experience in electrical installation, maintenance, and supervision.
  • Strong knowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC) and safety standards.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and electrical schematics.
  • Strong problem-solving and leadership skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding environment.

Job Description

The Electrical Foreman is responsible for overseeing electrical installations, maintenance, and repair work on construction sites or industrial facilities. They lead a team of electricians, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with all electrical codes and regulations.

Key Responsibilities: Supervision & Leadership:

  • Lead, supervise, and coordinate a team of electricians and electrical workers.
  • Assign tasks, monitor progress, and ensure work is completed on time and within budget.
  • Train and mentor electricians and apprentices, ensuring adherence to safety standards.
  • Maintain a productive and motivated team environment.

Electrical Installation & Maintenance:

  • Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
  • Oversee the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems, wiring, and fixtures.
  • Ensure electrical components meet local, state, and national codes (e.g., NEC compliance).
  • Troubleshoot electrical issues and implement effective solutions.

Safety & Compliance:

  • Enforce compliance with electrical codes, OSHA regulations, and company safety policies.
  • Conduct safety meetings and ensure team members follow proper PPE and safety protocols.
  • Inspect completed work for quality assurance and adherence to standards.

Project Coordination:

  • Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other trades to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Order materials and manage inventory to prevent delays.
  • Maintain accurate records, including work reports, material usage, and inspections.
  • Communicate project updates and issues to management.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical school or apprenticeship preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of electrical experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Licenses & Certifications: Valid Journeyman or Master Electrician license (as required by state).
  • Strong knowledge of electrical codes, blueprints, and safety regulations.
  • Ability to operate hand and power tools, testing devices, and heavy equipment.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand, walk, and work at heights for extended periods.
  • Lift and carry heavy equipment and materials (up to 50 lbs).
  • Work in various weather conditions and confined spaces as required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $40.00 - $50.00 per hour
