Roles And Responsibilities
- Efficiently and adequately apply powder paint to product by performing the following duties.
- Has a high school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Is knowledgeable of the function and capability of equipment, systems and guns necessary for applying powder paint to customer product. Understands and performs color change procedures.
- Understands the quality requirements and notifies the supervisor or corrects all situations that may result in a nonconforming part.
- Observes paint booth operation to detect defects or machine malfunction. Keeps work area clean and organized.
- Is trained in the use of and is medically approved to use half face and air supplied respirators.
- Reads and understands job order or product specifications.
- Assists on the line as needed in plugging, masking, hanging and removing product.
- Has the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Has the ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Has the ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization.
- Successfully pass a skills-based assessment - evaluates your reading, math, inspections & measurement, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills
- Problem solving skills
- Able to operate forklift and overhead crane
- Knowledge of equipment (cranes, shears, saws, motors, burning equipment)
- Successful candidates will be enrolled in a registered apprenticeship program as part of their onboarding
