Join our team! We have a full-time opportunity available for a resourceful Buyer/Planner with experience in project-based purchasing of raw materials and components for manufacturing, utilizing MRP/ERP software.
In this role, you will oversee project purchasing/buy-to-order and supply chain activities, while meeting the Company’s growth demands. You will also effectively manage costs and availability of material through successful procurement and commodity management, as well as building and maintaining strong relationships with our suppliers and contract manufacturers.
This is an onsite, hands-on, individual contributor role in a small, collaborative organization, with growth potential.
Responsibilities:
- Enter purchase orders, new items and bills of materials in the MRP/ERP system. Monitor and maintain min/mid/max levels of purchased components
- Oversee project purchasing/buy-to-order activities, including reviewing and managing the status of purchase orders to ensure on-time delivery
- Analyze production requirements utilizing the MRP/ERP system driven requirements
- Generate manufacturing orders that create optimal production and material demand
- Oversee inventory and non-inventory procurement activities, seeking lowest cost while retaining product quality, quantity, delivery, and services essential to the success of our manufacturing and engineering operational goals
- Maintain the accuracy of inventory recorded in the MRP/ERP system
- Collaborate in overseeing the performance of our external subcontractors and suppliers, to include pricing, quality, service, productivity, and delivery
- Oversee supply chain activities. Utilize our existing supply chain and operational processes, make ongoing recommendations for enhancements, and remain current on all activities
- Oversee and optimize the supplier-managed inventory process
- Plan, implement, and participate in the reconciliation of stock cycle counts
- Collaborate with our Engineering team on new product introduction procurement requirements
- Participate in the ongoing management and enhancement of our MRP/ERP system
- Actively participate in lean activities and contribute to our MRB and ECO teams
- Other duties and responsibilities as required, and as business needs demand
Requirements:
- 2 years of successful experience in project-based procurement and supply chain processes with a manufacturer. Planner experience preferred
- Experience entering and managing purchase orders in an MRP/ERP system
- Experience in effectively analyzing manufacturing production requirements by utilizing MRP/ERP system driven requirements
- Experience utilizing bill of materials (BOM) and BOM structures to purchase
- Experience with inventory and non-Inventory procurement activities, seeking lowest cost while retaining product quality, quantity, delivery, and services throughout business cycles and growth demands
- Strong MRP/ERP utilization and system management skills. MS Dynamics /Great Plains ideal
- Solid MS Office skills
- Experience with inventory control and stock cycle counts
- Self-directed, resourceful and detail oriented with excellent analytical, planning, accuracy, organizational, problem-solving, interpersonal, collaboration, and communications skills
- Ability and willingness to use and rely on our existing processes and established guidelines in the performance of the work, and developing/enhancing processes and methods
- Hands-on and solutions-oriented with enthusiasm to work in a fast-paced, dynamic, collaborative, small team environment, interacting well with all levels of management and staff
- Must have a clean, valid US driver’s license
- Must be able to work onsite in our Franklin, MA facility during the day shift M-F, with flexibility for additional hours during peak times
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
