Position Overview
In the exhilarating role of Territory Manager, your mission is to lead the charge in achieving retail merchandising and sales excellence across diverse channels in your designated territory. Beyond meeting client expectations, you'll contribute to exciting retail and sales initiatives, from launching innovative products to executing rapid speed-to-shelf strategies. Armed with a company-provided iPad, you'll swiftly enter and transmit critical data, ensuring seamless communication. Your responsibilities extend to hands-on tasks, including assembling and installing store fixtures, strategically positioning them for optimal product visibility, accessibility, and store aesthetics. With a professional appearance and demeanor, you'll thrive in various environments, from standing for extended periods to working in cold storage areas. This dynamic position requires occasional weekend work, offering a chance to showcase your effective selling skills and engage with clients, making it an ideal opportunity for a multifaceted professional ready to contribute creatively and strategically.
Key Responsibilities:
- Achieve retail merchandising and sales targets across all channels within the designated territory.
- Fulfill client expectations related to retail sales coverage and productivity in the assigned territory.
- Contribute to retail and sales initiatives (including new product launches, contests, 30-day speed-to-shelf, etc.) as delegated.
- Enter and transmit data promptly as per management guidelines via company provided iPad using proprietary applications.
- Implement the retail territory coverage plan to meet merchandising coverage objectives.
- Collaborate closely with management, fostering professional relationships to facilitate effective participation in marketing, promotion, and product sales.
- Organize and execute merchandising events within the assigned territory.
- Ensure complete distribution and display of products in assigned accounts according to the plan-o-gram.
- Rotate stock, maintain cleanliness, stock displays, and price merchandise appropriately.
- Perform tasks such as checking date codes, ensuring compliance with approved plan-o-gram.
- Undertake special projects as directed by the Manager.
- Assemble and install store fixtures, shelving, and displays according to design specifications and guidelines.
- Ensure that fixtures are placed strategically to maximize product visibility, accessibility, and overall store aesthetics.
- Inspect fixtures for quality and functionality, adjusting or repairs as needed.
- Complete installations within established timelines, considering store operating hours and minimizing downtime.
- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines during the installation process, ensuring a safe working environment for all involved.
- Fulfill any other duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Licenses/Certificates
- Must possess valid driver’s license
- 2 years of outside sales experience
- High School education /GED required
- Associate’s/Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and web-based applications.
Physical requirements in order to facilitate sales
- Must be able to work while standing for extended periods of time.
- Must have a professional appearance & demeanor.
- Must be able to work in cold storage areas for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to repeatedly lift a minimum of 25lbs.
- Overnight travel as well as air travel will be required.
Skills and Competency Requirements-Grocery Sales
- Must possess effective selling skills and techniques.
- Must be available for occasional weekend work (Demos and Food Shows). Must be able to work nights and holidays. (Night and holiday work will be pre-defined by position). • Must be willing and able to work in extremely cold conditions (i.e. refrigerated and freezer sections of retail stores). • Must be able to effectively communicate with others. Must have good vision and be able to operate a calculator, telephone, copier, hand truck, hammer, screwdriver, and case cutter.
- Possess knowledge of Military Commissary/Exchange Sales
- Can communicate clearly with buyers, clients, and customers.
- Knowledge of grocery merchandising methodology
- Knowledge of grocery marketing methodology
- Must have good command of the English language, both orally and written.
- Must have good analytical skills.
