What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Warehouse Manager - Night Lead position at S&L Food Sales Company?
The Load Crew Supervisor (LCS) will lead a crew of order pickers and oversee all warehouse operations after normal business hours. The LCS will work in conjunction with the Warehouse Manger to enforce all SOP’s in warehouse operations, will assist in training and retaining warehouse personnel and be the main point of contact for S&L office and sales staff for all warehouse matters when his/her shift begins.
Department: Warehouse – Reports to Warehouse Manager
Wage: $24hr Weekly, Monthly & Quarterly Incentives
Minimum Skill Requirements: This position requires that the LCS possess strong communication skills, , an understanding of key warehouse performance indicators, knowledge of OSHA safe practices, warehouse best practices and a strong desire to make his/her department perform at the highest level. The ability to troubleshoot and think independently to solve logistic, technical, and operational issues will be key.
Duties:
- Maintain a safe working environment
- Work with Warehouse Manager to make sure the warehouse is prepped and ready to begin pulling of routes
- Review routes and plan for evening shift
- Manage load crew and oversee all warehouse operations during night shift
- Management of rest periods keeping in compliance with State and Federal HOS rules while keeping warehouse operational
- Ensure all SOP’s are maintained, and loads are being loaded in an accurate and timely fashion
- Quality Control: Spot checking orders, double checking outages, looking for damaged or short coded products, demanding safely built pallets.
- Assist crew in picking, staging and loading product
- Prepare all shipping documents for drivers prior to their arrival
- Train, evaluate and retain the best load crew talent
- Evaluate picker performance through KPI’s identifying pickers who are high performers and those who may need additional training
- Problem solving and trouble shooting skills will be used to ensure that all team members can identify root causes and take measures to resolve future problems.
- Communicate with our driver team to address any load times, load issues, load preferences, product transfers and dock needs.
- Communicate any issues during shift the management team for follow-up
- Perform other related duties as assigned
