Apprentice Electrician
Saber Power Services, LLC, (SPS) located in Houston, TX is a nationally recognized full service, EPC, specialty engineering, procurement, construction and testing and commissioning company specializing in complex medium and high voltage electrical infrastructure in North America.
We are looking for a motivated and safety-minded Apprentice Electrician to support our licensed Journeyman and Master Electricians in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems. This role is designed for individuals looking to build a long-term career in the electrical trade, with hands-on experience in both low and high voltage environments, including substations, transmission, and distribution systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist electricians with the installation of electrical equipment, conduit, wire, transformers, breakers, and grounding systems.
- Learn to read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and diagrams.
- Pull wire, bend conduit, and install cable trays and panels under supervision.
- Maintain tools and equipment in a clean and safe working order.
- Follow all safety protocols, including lockout/tagout and arc flash procedures.
- Support job site clean-up and material organization.
- Attend and complete classroom and on-the-job training per state or union apprenticeship program standards.
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Enrolled in or willing to enroll in a state-approved electrical apprenticeship program.
- Basic knowledge of hand tools and electrical components.
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in outdoor environments and at heights.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Must be able to pass a drug test and background check.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience on construction or utility job sites.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
- CPR/First Aid training.
