Scope of Responsibility: This position is responsible for ensuring inventory counts are correct, entering Production Work Orders, verifying materials and parts are returned and confirming incident reports.
Essential Duties:
- Prioritizes and organizes Inventory Control team’s daily work to best meet the business needs
- Verifies work schedules and overtime schedules with the Operations Manger and informs employees of any scheduling changes
- Identifies, tracks and manages shortages while aiding in the sequencing of work to maximize throughput
- Works hands-on and leads assigned team to efficiently and safely accomplish assigned tasks
- Coordinates material issues with production to support smooth operations
- Manages and monitors inventory levels and flows, and directs corrective action as needed
- Researches missing parts to find current locations
- Inspects/audits random outbound orders for accuracy, completeness and compliance with special instructions
- Coordinates, performs and reconciles weekly cycle counts of inventory materials to ensure inventory accuracy
- Conducts annual physical inventory counts
- Processes customer orders, pulls materials, and oversees packing and shipping of customer orders
- Conducts shipping and receiving processes and procedures as required
- Assists in loading and unloading trucks using a forklift as needed
- Serves as the main liaison between Inventory Control and other departments within the Company
- Acts as a backup for the Supervisor as needed
- Maintains positive, cooperative and team-oriented relationships with co-workers, supervisors, managers and others that the position comes in contact with
- Upholds a high degree of integrity with regards to professional behavior and safety
- Performs other duties as assigned
Position Requirements:
Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent; an Associate’s degree in Business or related field is preferred; however, not a required
Experience: 3-5 years of recent inventory experience desired, preferably in a manufacturing or production environment
Skills & Abilities:
- Previous lead or supervisory or lead experience is required
- Experience operating an all-terrain forklift of 15,000# or more is desirable
- Must possess strong English verbal and written communication skills, along with the ability to build relationships with co-workers and other internal customers.
- Must be detail oriented and have the ability to multi-task in a fast paced team environment.
- Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products such as Word, Excel, and Outlook, along with recent experience using ERP/MRP, or other manufacturing systems desired.
- Must be able to pass Sabre forklift certification.
- Regular and timely attendance is required
Physical Requirements:
- Environment may include fluctuations in temperature, dust and noise.
- Must be willing to work outside in all weather elements including rain, sleet, snow, etc.
- Must be able to push, pull and lift up to 50 pounds, climb, bend, sit, stand, stoop, reach and grasp.
- Must be able to type and use office equipment
- Must be able to climb into and out of a forklift
- Must be able to pass commercial driver’s vision test requirements
