What are the responsibilities and job description for the NDT Tech (UT II Experience Preferred) position at Sabre Industries?
Scope of Responsibility: The UT Level II Inspector is responsible to ensure that all parts, shafts, and/or poles meet standards set forth by design requirements.
Essential Duties:
- Perform all inspection functions to the requirements of ASNT SNT TC-1A for a UT Level II.
- Perform Visual and Ultrasonic Weld Inspections to the requirements of AWS D1.1.
- Cross train in other areas of Quality Control Department and fill in when need arises.
- Ensure that all documentation is accurately and neatly completed.
- Keep pass down log accurate.
- Always comply with Sabre safety standards.
- Always maintain a professional demeanor with personnel of Quality Department and all departments at Sabre.
- Participate in the training process of UT Level I Inspectors.
- Regular and on-time attendance.
- Work in your shift as scheduled.
- Must work well with others.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:
- Regular and timely attendance is required.
- High School/GED preferred but not required.
- One year in Quality Control or related field. Welding background a plus.
- Be able to read and interpret blueprints.
- Be able to accurately verify all parts to print using a tape measure.
- Possess effective communication skills.
- Must be able to read and write in English.
- Certifiable to the requirements of ASNT SNT TC-1A for a UT Level II.
- Must be able to meet the AWS D1.1 requirements of a visual weld inspector.
- Perform Visual and Ultrasonic Weld Inspections to the requirements of AWS D1.1
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to perform physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs and moving entire body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, bending, twisting, and handling of materials.
- Must be able to work in an outside manufacturing environment for long shifts, including weekends.
- Position requires manual dexterity, arm-hand steadiness, and a safety-minded individual.
- Must be able to work in an open environment exposed to extreme temperatures.
- Must have the ability to concentrate on tasks for long periods of time and be able to observe and receive information from all relevant sources.
