Sacramento Area Sewer District (SacSewer) is currently accepting applications for a Senior Maintenance & Operations Technician position. Applications will be screened after the following filing deadlines at 5PM:

Senior Maintenance & Operations Technician is the lead worker/advanced journey level class in the Maintenance and Operations series. This class is distinguished from the journey level class Maintenance and Operations Technician by the former’s advanced level of knowledge and skills in all functional areas of collection system maintenance and repair. The latter class is also responsible for providing assignments and lead direction and follow-up for more than one crew. This class is expected to possess knowledge, skills, and proficiency sufficient to train and direct subordinate staff in every assigned area of responsibility to include Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), customer service, sewer spill response, flooded structure response, maintenance, minor construction/repair, hydro cleaning operations, and television (TV) Inspections
Minimum Qualifications:
Either: 1. Two (2) years of full-time, paid experience with SacSewer in the Maintenance & Operations Technician class, Underground Construction & Maintenance Supervisor class, or Underground Construction & Maintenance Specialist class performing lead duties over a crew(s) performing maintenance, construction, repair, cleaning, inspection, and/or operation duties for underground pipeline systems and/or pump/lift stations.
AND
Grade 2 California Water Environment Association (CWEA) Collection System Maintenance Certification.
Or: 2. Completion of two (2) years apprenticeship program as a plumber.
AND
Two (2) years of full-time, paid experience performing lead duties over a crew performing maintenance, construction, repair, cleaning, inspection, and/or operation duties for underground pipeline systems and/or pump/lift stations.
AND
Grade 2 California Water Environment Association (CWEA) Collection System Maintenance Certification.
Or:3. Three (3) years of full-time, paid experience performing lead duties over a crew performing the maintenance, construction, repair, cleaning, inspection, and/or operation of underground pipeline systems and/or pump/lift stations.
AND
Grade 2 California Water Environment Association (CWEA) Collection System Maintenance Certification.
Note: Completion of 60 semester units or more (or 90 quarter units or more) at an accredited trade school, junior college, or university with a minimum of 30 semester units (or 45 quarter units) in mechanical-electrical technology, construction management, civil engineering, or other field closely related to the intent of the class may be substituted for one year of experience.
