What are the responsibilities and job description for the Detox Technician position at Saddleback Recovery?
Saddleback Recovery, located in Costa Mesa, is currently seeking a hard working, driven and dedicated detox technician staff member. We are a male and female detox and residential stabilization program. Detox technicians are responsible for the daily supervision of the treatment program's community and attend to the clients' essential needs while on detoxification.
We offer paid time off (PTO), dependent on total hours worked.
Essential Job Duties include but are not limited to:
- Conduct 30 minute rounds reports on all detoxing clients and rounds reports every 2 hours on residential clients. Documentation is done in KIPU.
- Document hourly vital signs on all clients in their first 24 hours of detox
- Administer detoxification protocols (COWS, CIWAS) on detoxifying clients per doctor's orders
- Observe medication self administration of clients (must be familiar with medication)
- Document shift reports
- Crisis intervention
- Some driving may be required
- General cleaning and maintaining the therapeutic milieu
- Ensure clients are adhering to facility rules
- Complete controlled medication counts at each shift change
- Other duties may be assigned on an as needed basis
- Adhere to CARF and DHCS standards of care
Qualifications
- Previous detox and/or residential experienced is highly preferred
- Strong communication skills
- Organizational and time management skills
- Conflict resolution
- Computer skills (KIPU experience preferred)
- RADT-I and/or CAADE registrants preferred for daytime positions
- CPR/First Aid
- Valid California driver's license
- If in recovery, must have one year clean/sober
