What are the responsibilities and job description for the Insurance Coordinator position at Sadler Health Center Co?
Sadler Health Center is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Insurance Coordinator to join our team. This role supports the facility in achieving its financial goals by maximizing revenue and collections and ensuring a smooth and efficient patient flow.
As one of our insurance coordinators and member of our revenue cycle team, you will review sliding fee scale status and conduct outreach to patients with expiring benefits. You will also provide patient education on health coverage and benefit information. You will ensure the most updated information regarding patient insurance coverage is in our electronic health records by verifying insurance coverage for new and existing patients via insurance web portals or by phone. You will also coordinate between our back-office revenue cycle team and our front office team to provide coverage information for both scheduled patients and walk-in/ add-on patients to ensure smooth patient flow.
As an insurance coordinator you will receive patient payments, answer or refer billing questions appropriately, and maintain accurate records of all financial transactions. You will also reconcile receipts (including cash, checks, and bankcard transactions) to ensure accuracy and timely deposits, adhering to cash management and accounting practices.
We are looking for someone with a High School Diploma/GED who has a minimum of two years of clerical, reception, medical or dental assisting, administrative, or secretarial experience in a medical/dental setting or healthcare insurance organization, or in insurance verification within a medical or dental setting. An associate degree in a related field is preferred. Work experience in a multiple provider medical practice, insurance verification, working with an electronic health record system, and working with low-income and/or underserved or multi-ethnic populations is a plus.
The pay range for this role is $19-20 per hour.
This role is a hybrid position with a requirement of at least 2 workdays onsite each week.
