What are the responsibilities and job description for the Swim Instructor position at Saf-T-Swim Swim Schools?
Our Saf-T-Swim instructors have a deep passion for teaching and working with students of all ages, providing necessary life-saving skills alongside learning to love and respect the water. Instructors are responsible for teaching in accordance with Saf-T-Swim's standards, following the curriculum and customizing the lessons to teach the student at their own pace.

Responsibilities
- Teach swimming skills in accordance with Saf-T-Swim's curriculum in a fun, positive, manner.
- Provide continuous, positive feedback to student and customers regarding their swimming progress.
- Structure class time appropriately to incorporate repetition, positive reinforcement, and introduction of required skills while conducting a quality lesson.
- Create a vision for the parent to understand where the lessons are leading and provide constructive feedback, adapting their teaching style to suit the student’s needs.
- Contact students prior to upcoming session and update student information in the system.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Arrive for work 15 minutes prior to scheduled lesson.
- Must be dependable and punctual.
Requirements
- Must enjoy working with infants, children, and adults.
- Friendly, confident and possess love of the water.
- Ability to handle high pressure/stressful situations.
- Demonstrate ability to use sound judgment when making decisions regarding the student’s safety and well-being.
- Neatly groomed/good hygiene.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including day, evening, weekends and/or holidays.
- Legal documentation establishing your identity and eligibility to be legally employed in the US.
Physical Demands
- Must be able to push, pull and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Preferably have CPR certification and Lifeguard certification.
- Must be comfortable holding newborns.
