SafeHaven is seeking a Part Time Store Associate for our resale store, Berry Good Buys.
Berry Good Buys Store Associate (Part Time – 20 hours a week)
Job Profile:
The Berry Good Buys Store Associate is responsible for ensuring smooth operations at the Berry Good Buys resale store (from the shopping experience to receiving donations). Key responsibilities include: greeting customers, completing point of sales, moving product from donation area out into the store, pricing and organizing donations in preparation to be sold and managing the donation drop off area. Supreme customer service is a priority at all points between interactions with customers, clients and donors.
Details:
- Greet and assist customers and donors in an engaging and professional manner
- Performs cash register operations.
- Maintain the appearance of all displays, tidying and overall store appearance; cleaning during slow times
- Work towards sales goals for the day; ensuring enough product is out on the floor
- Assists clients with clothing and other needs through voucher system (only SafeHaven clients eligible)
- Provides assistance to donors by unloading donations (as necessary) and offering signed donations tax receipts
- Process donations in timely manner to ensure quickness for point of sale
- Keep donations area (exterior and interior) clean from donations, debris and dirt (clean as necessary)
- Represents SafeHaven and Berry Good Buys in community
Ideal Candidate:
The ideal candidate is a true team player with a “can do” attitude. They are willing and able to be flexible and adaptable to the manager’s and to the customers’ needs. They come to work consistently with a positive attitude, ready to get to work and provide excellent customer service.
Qualifications:
- Ability to work flexible schedule
- Basic bookkeeping skills and able to run the cash register
- Basic reading, writing, math, and computer skills
- Commitment to accuracy during all transactions
- Familiarity with POS software is a plus
- Frequent standing, reaching, stooping, walking.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or 1 - 3 years’ retail experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Must be honest, trustworthy, and hardworking with a positive and friendly attitude
- Reliable and punctual; reliable transportation to and from work
- Sensitivity to the issue of domestic violence
- Strong and effective customer service, ensuring that at times of frustration you maintain a calm and helpful demeanor
- Work in tandem with other BGB staff and volunteers
