What are the responsibilities and job description for the Aviation Maintenance Technician position at SafeTech?
SEMCO Aerospace, a business unit of SK AeroSafety Group and SafeTech USA is seeking Aviation Maintenance Technicians for our Carrollton, Texas, aviation safety MRO in the mask shop.
At SEMCO we provide expert component maintenance on emergency, safety and survival equipment like crew oxygen masks, evacuation slides, life rafts, life vests and halon fire bottles, which we can recertify from a large variety of different manufacturers. Our facilities are F-A-A, D-O-T, and EASA certified.
Our Maintenance Technicians will support either the Oxygen Bottle or Mask Shop , the Fire Bottle or Hydro Shop, or the Evacuation Slides and Inflatables (Life Rafts and Vests) Shop.
The prospective qualified team member will be responsible for testing and packing inflatable units, calibrating and repairing bottles, as well as assist in other safety equipment repair shops throughout the facility, as needed.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Must be able to rig a unit for inflatables
- Have the ability to read and interpret documents including safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedures, and manuals
- Must be able to complete various types of maintenance documents, including FAA and EASA forms docs
- Must be able to lift 75-100lbs.
- During the folding process must be able to push, pull, tug (using hands and feet), bend, kneel, stoop, etc.
- Will need computer knowledge to make computer entries
- Technician that is self-motivated
- A&P or Airframe certification a plus, compensation commensurate with experience in industry and certifications
