What are the responsibilities and job description for the Safety Manager position at Safety Plus, Inc.?
Purpose
Through their expertise and support, Safety Managers play a crucial role in making safe work efficient and attainable, aligning with Safety Plus’s mission, for our customers. Safety Managers will consult with clients to understand their specific needs and hazards to provide a customized safety program to ensure compliance. This role is an integral part of the field service team and is primarily responsible for the regular delivery of the on-site EHS services and safety program analysis for customers.
Responsibilities
- Conduct safety training classes covering many different topics.
- Complete jobsite and facility safety audits at customer worksites.
- Implement and maintain effective and efficient safety programs across multiple industries
- Analyze data including audit & incident trends, training compliance, etc. to recommend adjustments and areas of focus for particular clients.
- Conduct safety services including IH testing, audiometric testing, drug screen collection, etc.
- Accurate and timely communication of issues to the company and the client in order to initiate authorization by the customer for a proper response.
- Maintain a portfolio of clients, roughly 15-20 at any time, for the purpose of creating long-term relationships, better understanding clients’ risks, fully grasping the significance of available data, and communicating that information to Safety Plus and the customer.
- On a day-to-day basis, Safety Managers must coordinate their schedules with other team members, prioritize work and client demands, and understand the responsibilities of various company personnel and departments in order to ensure the delivery of high quality EHS services to customers.
Competencies and Qualities
Qualified candidates must have the following competencies and qualities:
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Comfortable learning operation-critical software and proficient use of the Microsoft Office Suite
- Capable of professionally and accurately conducting repetitive mission essential tasks
- Ability to interpret & communicate complex ideas effectively to a wide range of audiences.
Education, Experience, and CertificationsRequired
- 3 years of experience in the safety profession.
Preferred
- BCSP Certification(s): CSP, ASP, GSP, SMS, OHST, CHST, STS, STSC, CIT, etc.
- OSHA Certified Trainer (General Industry, Construction, or Maritime)
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety & Health or certifications as referenced
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $40,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
