What are the responsibilities and job description for the Welder position at Safety Rail Company?
Essential Job Duties:
- Reading and understanding blueprints prior to starting a project.
- Sourcing the materials to be used in the project.
- Set up with appropriate fixture for the weldment.
- Measuring and cutting materials to specifications.
- Weld materials using the correct materials to join metals together.
- Checking finished work to make sure to falls within the tolerances marked on the blueprints.
- Is aware of and follows all safety practices, including the type of protective equipment they need in various situations.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Must have your own welding helmet
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to read blueprints.
- Knowledge of metallurgy,
- Knowledge of various welding techniques, including GTAW and GMAW.
- Mechanical aptitude.
- Complete training requirements provided by SRC.
- A positive, team-oriented attitude.
PHYSICAL REUIREMENTS
- Must pass a background test, drug test, and pre-placement work physical.
- Will need to lift 80lbs periodically.
- Ability to be on your feet for up to 8 hours.
- Normal vision (with or without corrective lenses) is required.
