Saint Anselm College, a Catholic, liberal arts college in the Benedictine tradition, is seeking a highly-skilled, self-motivated, full-time Program Assistant to support the New Hampshire Institute of Politics (NHIOP) and the Politics Department. Reporting to the Deputy Director, the successful candidate will support a fast-paced office serving as the point person for all Institute inquiries, handling general correspondence, calendars, meeting materials, presentations, and record keeping.
Other functions include shared responsibility of the Institute’s VideoLink studio for network broadcast guests; provide Institute tours to prospective students and special guests; oversee the Kevin B. Harrington Student Ambassador Program; oversee the Department of Politics work study students, update the Department of Politics webpage and social media sites; support significant committee work, such as rank and tenure; and update and maintain the alumni network database.
This position entails a high volume of contact with students, faculty, staff, and high-profile visitors to the New Hampshire Institute of Politics. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Required Experience:
Associates degree plus 3-5 years of relevant experience or a combination of education and experience required.
Required Skills:
An interest in state, local and national politics while maintaining a nonpartisan attitude. Must be available to work occasional nights and weekends as required by event and promotion schedules;
Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint, database systems and social media platforms;
Excellent multi-tasking, organizational, interpersonal, follow-up, and communication skills, as well as strong attention to detail required. Must be able to maintain confidentiality with sensitive information.
He or she must enjoy working in a fast-paced office with the ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with a diverse group of faculty, staff, students, and external constituents. Must also be able to communicate and navigate relationships with senior level college administrators and external constituencies in a professional manner. Must be able to prioritize supervisor goals and objectives in support of the college’s mission.
Successful candidates will be able to assist the college to further its strategic goals for institution-wide diversity and inclusiveness.
