Position Overview
The Senior Project Manager will serve as the central coordinator for large-scale IT infrastructure modernization initiatives at the Federal Reserve. This role is responsible for managing a complex user migration project that spans multiple IT infrastructure and security domains, synchronizing interdependent technical workstreams, and providing clear, consistent project visibility to stakeholders and leadership. The ideal candidate brings strong infrastructure project management experience, the ability to operate across multiple technical teams, and proven skill in managing schedules, dependencies, and risk in enterprise environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the central project manager for enterprise-scale infrastructure initiatives, including a large user migration effort involving multiple IT and security teams.
- Develop and maintain a centralized project management framework governing all project workstreams, including scope, milestones, dependencies, and delivery sequencing.
- Create, manage, and maintain integrated project schedules, tracking dependencies, critical paths, and resource constraints for infrastructure deployments.
- Facilitate agile project activities including stand-ups, planning sessions, and retrospectives across technical teams, adapting agile practices to infrastructure and operations environments.
- Manage release cycles and deployment calendars across server, network, and cloud environments to ensure coordinated execution and minimize operational disruption.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, dependencies, and blockers, escalating issues as needed to maintain schedule and delivery commitments.
- Support and align with ITIL and IT Service Management (ITSM) processes, including change management and release coordination in an enterprise environment.
- Establish and maintain standardized communication channels, project documentation, dashboards, and status reports for stakeholders and leadership.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for project status, risks, and updates, providing clear and concise reporting to technical teams and senior leadership.
Required Qualifications
- Strong understanding of agile methodologies and their application to infrastructure projects
- Proven experience coordinating multiple technical teams across IT domains
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex infrastructure projects with interdependencies
- Strong communication, stakeholder management, and executive briefing skills
- Hands-on experience with project management tools such as Jira and GitLab
- Working knowledge of IT infrastructure components, including servers, networking, and cloud services
- Experience with ITIL frameworks, ITSM, and enterprise change management processes
