What are the responsibilities and job description for the Construction Scheduler position at SAK Construction?
Affholder Construction is currently seeking a Construction Scheduler to join our team in supporting multiple large construction (predominately tunneling) projects across the United States. The position will be primarily based at our headquarters in O’Fallon, MO with flexibility for a hybrid work schedule. Job site travel is required depending on need.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Prepare, build, and update project schedules collaboratively with the project team.
- Utilize working knowledge of Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project software.
- Participate in all phases of the construction planning & scheduling process, including the creation of bid and proposal schedules, baseline schedules and ongoing schedule updates.
- Coordinate the development and ongoing management of all aspects of the schedule with project supervision, owners, and subcontractors/vendors.
- Perform schedule reviews to ensure effective and efficient best practices for scheduling are utilized. Communicate review comments to the project team.
- Assisting in the schedule narrative creation to clearly describe the status of the project
- Visit job sites to review job status and apply construction sequencing knowledge to accurately update the project schedule for assigned projects.
- Attend project related meetings and/or jobsite-specific meetings when needed to discuss project progress and the project schedule.
- Add resource loading and cost loading, when required, to schedules as required by project teams.
- Develop and maintain a library of standard project schedule templates for internal use as a starting point.
Requirements for this position include:
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of scheduling experience on large heavy construction projects.
- Candidate will need to have outstanding communication (written and verbal), interpersonal and time management skills.
