At Salem Health, our Respiratory Care Clinical Interns are essential contributors to the patient care team, gaining hands-on experience while supporting critical respiratory services for both inpatient and outpatient populations. Under supervision, interns perform therapeutic and diagnostic procedures aligned with department policies and standards, ensuring high-quality, efficient care. This role is designed for students currently enrolled in a COARC-accredited respiratory care program who are eager to apply their academic training in a real-world, fast-paced clinical environment. Interns are expected to maintain accurate and timely documentation, demonstrate strong organizational and communication skills, and work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team. With opportunities to engage in critical care and to grow through professional development and mentorship, this internship is an ideal launching point for those passionate about respiratory therapy. What you'll do
- Perform therapeutic and diagnostic procedures, (inpatient & outpatient) as assigned in accordance with department policy, including quality of care and productivity standards.
- Demonstrates self-motivation and acts on opportunities for professional self-improvement (e.g., solves problems independently, accepts extra assignments).

- Must demonstrate good organizational, technical and communication skills and demonstrate the ability to work both within a team setting and independently, utilizing time effectively with a minimum of supervision.
Required qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent and currently enrolled in an COARC accredited respiratory care program.
- Basic Life Support (BLS).
