Summary
As a Correctional Officer, you will be essential in maintaining safety and security within the Saline County Jail.
Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Ensuring the safety and security of inmates, staff members and approved program providers
- supervision of inmates
- transportation of inmates to courts, medical facilities, etc. as assigned
- following medical protocols as set forth by the facility medical contractor and assuring inmates have medical attention when required
- documentation of inmate activities, reporting inmate regulation violations, health concerns, etc.
- booking and releasing inmates
- security of inmate property
- cell searches
- supervision of video visitation
- monitoring jail surveillance
- monitoring kiosk activity to include messaging and commissary
- other duties as assigned
Qualifications/Skills
- Bilingual preferred (spanish)
- Strong security and conflict management skill
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle difficult situations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
