Salon Assistant (Hourly) – Active, Hands-On Support Role

Salon EFX is seeking a reliable, high-energy Salon Assistant to support our stylists, maintain salon standards, and ensure every client feels welcomed and cared for. This is a physically active, task-driven role with clear expectations and minimal downtime during scheduled hours.
Important Role Clarity
This is an assistant position, not a cosmetology training or practice role.
- Paid hours are dedicated to assisting, cleaning, and supporting salon operations
- Personal practice (mannequins, waxing, techniques, etc.) may only be done off the clock, before or after scheduled shifts
Core Responsibilities (Included in This Role):
- Cleaning and maintaining bathrooms
- Sweeping, mopping, and maintaining salon floors
- Washing dishes, bowls, tools, and back-of-house items
- Cleaning and sanitizing shampoo bowls
- Shampooing clients and preparing them for services
- Assisting stylists during services (prep, cleanup, support)
- Laundry: towels, capes, and linens
- Resetting stations and common areas promptly
- Supporting front desk flow as needed
Client Experience Expectations:
- Greet clients confidently and warmly upon arrival
- Be clearly spoken, approachable, and upbeat
- Act as a visible, positive presence—the assistant is often the first interaction clients have with the salon
Performance, Reliability & Pay Growth:
- This is an hourly position
- Pay increases are performance-based, not automatic
- Raises may be considered for assistants who:
- Perform all duties satisfactorily and consistently
- Are always punctual and reliable
- Maintain a professional attitude with staff and clients
- Demonstrate initiative, efficiency, and teamwork
Growth Opportunity:
- High-performing assistants may be considered for expanded responsibilities or leadership opportunities over time

Additional Expectations:
- This role is physically active and requires standing for extended periods, frequent movement, and cleaning tasks
- Personal phone use is limited during shifts and permitted only during designated breaks
