Job Description
The craft spirits business is exploding. Our field sales representative will have the unique opportunity to be a part of that growth while backed by an exciting new brand. The Field Sales Representative is responsible for actively identifying leads, managing prospects and acquiring new business throughout California. The ideal candidate has strong communication skills, a background in sales, and is self-motivated.
Qualifications
- Calling and selling new accounts on a daily basis, scheduling and documenting activities, and developing prospective customer profiles.
- Prepare and deliver sales proposals/presentations and follow up with key decision makers.
- Actively identify leads, manage prospects and acquire new business.
- Complete scheduled and cold call prospecting activities to establish first and follow up appointments with customer decision makers.
- Maximize sales in every store by determining customer needs and introducing items and practices that store does not currently carry or conduct.
- Partnering with distributors to ensure orders are placed, products are received and business is growing across all existing accounts.
- Meet or exceed the new business sales goals.
- Develop and maintain an awareness of market behavior and competitive trends and respond accordingly.
- Regularly meet with owner/operator to review weekly sales activities, progress on goals, and status of prospective customers.
- Maintain and grow accounts in the Bay Area predominately with the opportunity to expand state-wide.
- Other duties, as assigned.
Required Skills
- Desire to build a career in sales, specifically in the food and beverage space.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Strong sense of urgency and commitment to achieving results
- Ability to lift and move cases of product frequently
- At least 2 years of sales experience in the Hospitality, Foodservice or Wine and Spirits industry
- Strong Communication Skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Willing to work for base and commission (mainly on commission, as we are a small company but can dig-deep for the right person)
- Willing to do in-store demos
- Based on the SF Bay Area
- Must have access to a vehicle to visit accounts continuously
Additional Information
Targeted compensation is between $40-60k (base commission). Commissions are based on a percent of sales across target accounts. Full-time.
