TITLE: Event Kitchen/Station Attendant

LOCATION: Salthouse Catering 1740 Signal Point Road, Unit 200, Charleston, SC 29412;

Event locations throughout Charleston & surrounding areas

The position requires a basic understanding of event setup, good communication skills and a desire to consistently deliver excellent customer service. Additionally, following direction from Event Captain and Event Chefs to perform duties in accordance with Salthouse standards, in order to provide guests with a successful and impressive event execution. This is a seasonal hourly position (non-exempt).

Essential skills and responsibilities include:

▪ Follow direction provided by Event Chef’s for executing event service

▪ Maintain clear and effective communication with BOH and FOH event managers.

▪ Ensuring rented equipment is ready and accurate for event

▪ Loading and unloading equipment and other items as needed and stated on Banquet Event Order(s), with safety as a priority

▪ Performing event set up and breakdown duties to include breaking down stations and event kitchens, loading and cleaning equipment

▪ Maintaining high standards of safety and cleanliness

▪ Maintaining a congenial and cooperative attitude toward co-workers and guests throughout events

▪ Performing services during event such as running food, taking out trash, and ongoing kitchen/venue clean up

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

▪ High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)

▪ Experience in catering (preferred)

▪ 2 years culinary experience (preferred)

▪ Must be able to remain in a stationary position for long periods of time

▪ Frequently moves equipment onsite up to 40 pounds

▪ Occasionally must work in outdoor weather conditions

▪ Reliable transportation is a must due to events being throughout the Charleston area

▪ Consistent positive attitude and good performance

▪ Willingness to work long hours, weekends, and holidays (when needed)

FULL-TIME/PART-TIME: Part-Time (non-exempt)

Pay: $16.00 - $19.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10 – 30 per week
