What are the responsibilities and job description for the Behavioral Health Technician II-Night Shift position at SalusCare, Inc?
Hands-on position working on multiple campuses with children and adults with substance abuse and/or mental health diagnosis.
Monitoring patient and campus safety, overseeing medication times on residential campuses, transporting patients short and long distances, and facilitating recreation and leisure groups.
Ensuring the safety of our target population and promoting quality care for all patients.
This position may be scheduled to work on the Adult Crisis Unit, Children’s Crisis Unit, Addiction Receiving Facility, Adult Detox unit, or Transitional Living Campus (adult residential).
Requires a High School diploma/equivalent. One (1) year direct-care experience in a behavioral health, human services, corrections, mental health or related field preferred. OR The successful completion of the equivalent of 30 semester/credit hours towards an undergraduate degree in health, behavioral health, human services or a related field.
Should possess a general knowledge of co-occurring disorders in order to best serve both target populations (substance abuse and mental health preferred). Must be comfortable working with children and adults and to use verbal and physical interventions (as a last resort) to manage aggression. For those seeking employment in a residential setting a valid Florida driver’s license with a good driving record and current auto insurance is required.
