Educational and Experience Requirement
Bachelors degree in art, design, marketing, advertising, or a related field. Two years of experience in an agency, in-house marketing environment or related field. Experience with computer graphics hardware and software. Experience in Higher Education is desirable. Certifications may be required. Additional experience may be considered in lieu of education.
Nature & Purpose of Position
Provides vital support to the Marketing & Communications team by performing and managing high-quality graphic design projects for University clients.
Primary Responsibilities
Collaborates with the Marketing & Communications team, University clients, and print services. Designs and produces high-quality impactful visual materials to support and advance the University’s brand and outreach efforts for both print and digital formats. Provides artistic guidance, conceptualizes design work with abstract thoughts, and prepares final design for production. Determines specification, color schemes, size layout, photography, and graphic placement for projects. Edits text as needed. Prepares production and costs estimates, sets timeframes, tracks time on projects, and manages efficient production workflow on various projects simultaneously. Assists in brand compliance and graphic standards. Responsible for building and managing relationships with assigned University clients. Oversees and creates graphics for digital signage. Liaisons with internal and vendor technology departments for sign upgrades and/or repairs. Manages time-sensitive projects and plays a key role in maintaining an efficient production workflow. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Other Specifications
Requires strong working knowledge of current graphic design practices and procedures and the ability to develop creative solutions for multiple channels and formats. Proficient in current design software and industry standards for both print and online platforms. Working knowledge of print production process including pre-press setup.
