Position Details
Duties Performed in the Usual Course of the Job
Full time teaching of undergraduate accounting classes. A typical teaching load is four courses per semester. Duties include preparing lectures, assignments, examinations, assign and grade homework, and other class-related materials for both face-to-face and online classes. Hold office hours and provide assistance to students as needed. Take part in departmental administrative activities as directed by the department chair. Participate in other academic and professional engagement activities consistent with the department’s mission.
Educational Requirements for the Position
Master’s degree from an Accredited University with a minimum of 18 graduate hours in accounting. CPA license is required. Other professional accounting certifications are a plus.
Experience Required for the Position
5-7 years of current/recent accounting or professional business experience that is substantial in terms of duration and level of responsibility to satisfy AACSB requirements for Scholarly Practitioners (SP) or Instructional Practitioners (IP). Prior teaching experience is desirable.
Other Requirements for the Position
To satisfy the College’s AACSB accreditation standards, the successful candidate will be expected to participate in sufficient scholarly/professional activities necessary to maintain Scholarly Practitioner (SP) or Instructional Practitioner (IP) status.
