SALARY RANGE: Starting at $60,000 with full benefits package/401L
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES: This Position is responsible for the management and coordination of the Family Planning Program; serves as Team Leader for the supervision of the program in the clinical setting; identifies target populations with special emphasis on indigent females and teens, as well as identifies target populations with special emphasis on clients that meet federal/state BCCCP criteria. Provides staff education and updates to ensure the provision of appropriate Family Planning services. Ensure provision of Family Planning contraceptives by monitoring and ordering supplies as indicated. Monitors Family Planning services to ensure all Federal and State guidelines are met. Develops, maintains, and updates Family Planning policies, procedures and standing orders. Serves as the Team Leader for the Family Planning record audits and Patient Review Committee per Health Department policies. This position will also serve as a nurse in the general clinic.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Considerable knowledge of and skills in the application of nursing theory, practices, principles, and techniques employed in the field of public health and related programs; considerable knowledge of available resources and organizations and the ability to coordinate these as needed; general knowledge of current social and economic problems relating to public health. Ability to plan, coordinate, and supervise the work of others; ability to deal tactfully with others and to exercise good judgement in appraising situations and making decisions; ability to secure the cooperation of clients, to elicit needed information, and to maintain effective working relationships; ability to record accurately services rendered and to interpret and explain records, reports, and medical instruction.
MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: Graduation from an accredited school of professional nursing and one year of professional nursing experience. A current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina by the N. C. Board of Nursing. Individuals without a B.S.N degree will be required to complete the "Introduction to Principles and Practices of Public Health Nursing" course within one year of employment as a condition of continued employment in accordance with Health Services Commission Rule.
