Salary: $140,000 – $160,000
Samuel Knight Energy is the leading utility-scale EPC recruitment company in the country, with more opportunities than anyone else. We partner with top-tier builders across the U.S. to help them deliver world-class solar and storage projects — and right now, we’re recruiting for a hands-on Electrical Construction Project Manager to oversee the daily buildout of major utility-scale sites.
Our client is a national EPC with a deep track record in renewables, currently delivering a portfolio of 100MW solar and battery storage projects across the South and Midwest. This position is to manage one such site, with a strong electrical scope that includes MV/AC cable runs, inverter skids, SCADA, substation interface, and final energization. You’ll be the lead site-based project manager, with direct responsibility for schedule, labor, logistics, subcontractors, and production — with a strong emphasis on electrical oversight.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all day-to-day field construction activity, with an emphasis on electrical installation and testing
- Oversee production rates, labor allocation, and subcontractor coordination
- Track project milestones and report against schedule, budget, and scope
- Coordinate logistics, deliveries, and inventory for electrical components (CAB, MV cabling, inverters, transformers)
- Interface with QA/QC, Safety, and Commissioning teams to ensure a safe and compliant build
- Manage RFI, redline, and change order processes on site
- Maintain accurate site documentation and reporting
Required Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of experience managing field construction on utility-scale renewable projects
- Proven experience delivering at least one solar or BESS project >50MW in size
- Deep understanding of solar electrical scopes — including trenching, cabling, equipment setting, and commissioning
- Strong scheduling, resource planning, and construction logistics capabilities
- Ability to lead teams and direct day-to-day field execution with discipline and pace
This role is fully site-based. Local candidates who can attend daily are preferred, but for the right profile, a 3-on / 1-off rotation may be offered.
