General Description:
Plans, organizes, and coordinates Accounts Receivable activities of the Food Bank.
Essential Functions:
- Responsible for ensuring that all aspects of Accounts Receivable are completed. Including but not limited to sorting, matching, coding, recording and reconciling cash receipts to the general ledger.
- Monitor agency accounts receivable.
- Prepare Agency billings and collections.
- Assist agencies with questions concerning their accounts.
- Process and mail customer statements monthly.
- Review financial documents, research discrepancies and reconciles accounts with general ledger.
- Assist in the monthly close process. Ensures all monthly posting is completed in a timely manner and reconciles donations.
- Prepare other account reconciliations as needed and assists in preparation for year-end audit.
- Other duties and special projects as assigned by manager.
Qualifications
- Associate degree in Accounting, Business, or a related field, or equivalent work experience required.
- 1-3 years of experience in accounting, reconciling, profit and loss, preferably in a nonprofit environment.
- Experience with data entry and journal entry preparation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with financial management software.
- Familiarity with nonprofit accounting standards (e.g., FASB, GAAP) preferred.
- Skills in computer applications i.e., excel, word processing and database management.
- Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
- Ability to organize work, attention to detail, accuracy, and the meeting of deadlines.
- Ability to work cooperatively with other Food Bank staff and volunteers.
- Ability to present a professional demeanor under a variety on conditions.

Work Environment
This job is performed in an indoor office environment and occasionally may require attendance at outdoor events. You may be required to work in different locations with varying conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
