What are the responsibilities and job description for the IT Director position at San Diego Rescue Mission?

We are seeking an IT Director that will lead and manage all aspects of information technology across SDRM's five locations. This individual will develop and implement IT strategies to support SDRM's mission, ensuring alignment with the organization's goals and compliance with best practices for security and technology infrastructure. The IT Director is responsible for maintaining secure, efficient, and reliable IT systems, and for leading a small team of IT professionals and external vendors.
Key Responsibilities :
- IT Strategy & Leadership
- Develop, implement, and maintain an IT roadmap aligned with SDRM's strategic objectives.
- Provide leadership, direction, and coaching to the IT team, ensuring high performance and continuous growth.
- Oversee IT operations across five locations, ensuring seamless service delivery and minimizing disruptions.
- Collaborate with senior leadership and department heads to identify and address technology needs for programs and services.
- Serve as the primary IT liaison for executive leadership, offering solutions to enhance operations and service delivery.
- Systems Management & Infrastructure
- Oversee and manage all IT systems, including servers, networks, and telecommunications across locations.
- Ensure the stability, security, and scalability of all IT infrastructure to support SDRM's multi-site operations and plan for future expansion.
- Manage cloud-based services, software applications, and enterprise tools to support SDRM's programs and staff.
- Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations and security protocols, including HIPAA as required.
- Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
- Vendor Management & Budgeting
- Establish and manage relationships with third-party vendors, ensuring optimal service levels and cost-effectiveness.
- Negotiate and oversee IT service agreements, software licenses, and hardware procurement.
- Develop, monitor, and manage the annual IT budget in collaboration with the Sr. VP of Operations, ensuring financial accountability.
- Security & Compliance
- Implement and maintain cybersecurity protocols to protect organizational data and systems.
- Conduct regular security audits, identifying and addressing vulnerabilities.
- Ensure compliance with applicable data and technology regulations, including PCI and HIPAA, where relevant.
- Train staff on IT policies, cybersecurity best practices, and usage of IT tools to reduce risks.
- Project Management
- Plan and execute IT projects, such as system upgrades, migrations, and new technology implementations and site expansion.
- Manage timelines, resources, and stakeholder expectations to ensure project success.
- Continuously evaluate new technologies to enhance operational efficiency and service delivery.

The incumbent works in a residential setting, which consists of individuals who may have a mental or physical disability or illness. Physical resources may be limited and, in some cases, are donated.
