OVERVIEW:

POSITION SPECIFICS:

  • Working Location: Morse High School. 6905 Skyline Drive, San Diego, CA 92114
  • Five years of experience teaching TK-12 is preferred, but not required.

Examples of Duties:


The CTE Teacher assigned to support Morse High School is responsible for teaching four (4) sections of Food/Prep and Nutrition, one (1) section of Agricultural Biology, and one (1) section of Agricultural Chemistry:

  • Educate students about the principles of nutrition, healthy eating, and food preparation, often incorporating practical cooking skills
  • Educate students about agriculture, food science, and natural resources, equipping them with skills in science, math, communication, leadership, management, and technology
  • Educate students about the chemical principles underlying agricultural practices (soil chemistry, plant nutrition, pesticide development, and food safety)
  • Preparing and delivering lectures
  • Conducting laboratory sessions
  • Assessing student work

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:


Licenses and Other Requirements:

Designated Credential – Agriculture and Natural Resources. Additional credential perferred: single subject Biology or Chemistry

The examination process will consist of an application screening based on the candidate's education, work history and responses to the supplemental questions. Professional References will be contacted for candidates who are selected to proceed in the examination process. Applicants who meet the minimum qualifications are not guaranteed advancement through any subsequent phase of the examination. Candidates selected to proceed in the examination process will be invited to an interview. Applicants who pass the examination process will be placed on an eligible list for a period of one school year. The eligible list will be used to fill vacancies at various school sites.
