What are the responsibilities and job description for the EVS Assistant position at San Gorgonio Memorial Hospital?
JOB SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Lead Person, performs cleaning and related duties to patient rooms, offices, and other building areas necessary to provide a clean, sanitary, orderly, and aesthetically pleasing environment for facility customer groups.
Because the EVS Assistant will have some direct contact with patients, he/she must be able to demonstrate an understanding of the needs of patients throughout the life-span (particularly psychosocial and emotional) and interact with patients and others accordingly.
REQUIREMENTS
Previous acute care hospital cleaning experience preferred. High School graduate or equivalent. Minimum 1 year of cleaning experience in healthcare, hospitality, or high volume related environments. Good communication skills required with the ability to understand both oral and written instructions. Able to wear personal protective equipment (e.g., face mask, goggles, and latex/non A latex gloves) as needed. Ability to work effectively within role independently and with other team members; read, write and effectively communicate in English. Proven ability to organize time and tasks; to work within multiple departments, receiving direction from multiple sources. Able to establish and maintain good working relationships. Proficient in using the internet.
