San Marcos Academy, a private Christian serving PreK3 through 12th-grade students is actively seeking applications for a Student Life Director.
POSITION PURPOSE:
Primarily overseeing and promoting the Student Life Department at San Marcos Academy.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Ensure the Student Life program meets the needs of the student body and the mission of the Academy
- Develop, implement, coordinate, and market a full complement of after-school and weekend activities, trips, clubs, events, and community service opportunities throughout the school year for Middle and Upper school students
- Develop, implement, coordinate, and market a Lower School After School Program and a Lower School recreation-based camp program
- Manage the Recreation Center and oversee and sponsor the Student Recreation Organization.
- Create and implement goals, objectives, procedures, and strategic plans for the Student Life Department
- Hire, train, and schedule staff to adequately operate the programs offered by Student Life Department
- Review, manage, and adjust costs to meet annual budget goals
- Oversee billing management tasks and prepare reports as needed
- Assist in developing, implementing, coordinating, and marketing OctoBEARFest
- Serve as the coordinator for designated student events and campus fundraisers
- Oversee and serve as a liaison for non-athletic facility rentals and contracts
- Assist with social media and website updates
- Serve on designated committees
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Supervise the Student Life Department Staff
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
1. Flexible hours to include evenings and weekends
2. Knowledge of the student handbook, admissions handbook, and the resident hall handbook/policies
Compensation: $36,000 - $40,000; Determined by experience
Start Date: May 15, 2023
Requirements:REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES, AND_QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of bachelor’s degree in recreation administration or related field
- Strong communication skills and understanding of basic marketing components
- Understand basic safety precautions and maintain CPR & First Aid certifications
- Current Texas Driver’s License and CDL preferred
- Knowledge of adolescent development
- Proficient technology/audio-visual skills
PERFORMANCE STANDARDS AND EXPECTATIONS:
- Knowledge of SMA’s mission, vision, and core values
- Represent SMA with appropriate appearance
- Attend as many SMA activities as possible.
Salary : $36,000 - $40,000
