Assembly Lead:

Supervises: None
Job Summary:
The Assembly Lead moves and handles materials, supplies, and finished goods along with inspecting and tracking completed parts to prepare them for shipment. The Assembly Lead works closely with the Production Operations Manager to ensure that the daily operations of the production floor run smoothly and that all parts are completed on time and of the highest quality. This person will be able to perform all functions on the floor including production and inspecting and will be the backup to the Production Operations Manager.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Material Handling
- Help set-up workshop floor for daily production
- Work with Direct Support Professionals to ensure individuals have parts available at all times during the workday
- Inspects completed parts for quality and completeness
- Assist with tracking and recording of quantity and quality
- Notify warehouse personnel what additional material is needed for production.
- Verifies product labels are attached as the finished parts are placed in holding area.
- Assist with shipping and receiving as needed.
Product Assembly
- Follow oral or written instruction to assemble and inspect finished product.
- Perform functions as described by organizational instructions, operating the specified equipment, or following production procedures as instructed.
- Work with various tools/machinery.
- Perform assigned tasks and functions in accordance with established safety procedures.
Product Inspection
- Ensure quality of assembled goods
- Inspects goods as they are finished by providing a quick visible review
- Tracking/Counting and recording of quantity and quality
- Rotates stations to ensure production runs smoothly
- Manages time to meet/exceed production numbers
- Assist the Production Operations Manager with monthly inventory.
- Complete additional tasks and responsibilities as needed or assigned
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Must have reliable transportation
- Bureau of Criminal Investigation Check must result in no felony record.
- Ohio Department of DD Abuser Registry verification must result in no abuse record.
- Maintain facility, equipment, and safety to the highest standards.
- Operation of a computer, phone, and office equipment for business/service. This includes internal programs.
- The ability to work independently, problem solve and communicate.
- Ability to work as a team member to support the overall mission of the company.
- The ability to multi-task and prioritize responsibilities.
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must have skills to use technology applications daily.
- The ability to discern information sharing and always maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
- Obtain and maintain the Adult Service Worker training as required by DODD
Education and Experience:
- Previous work experience in production setting is preferred.
- Forklift experience
- Have a High School Diploma or GED
- Basic math, reading, and writing skills.
- Current First Aid/CPR
Physical Requirements:
- Operate hand cart, scales, small hand tools.
- May be exposed to a moderate amount of noise, vibration, dust, and fumes.
- Physical Exam must result in being able to perform the essential functions of the position.
- Drug screening must result in no substance abuse.
- Some sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be physically able to twist, bend and operate a motor vehicle, hand cart, scales and small hand tools.
- Must be able to lift at least 35lbs at a time.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $15.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
