General Purpose:
The Bar Captain(s) will lead and support the Banquet Bar Operations, both front and back of house to ensure complete customer satisfaction and encourage repeat business.
Essential Duties:
• Communicate with guests using clear and enthusiastic words, tones, and body language at all times. Make the guests feel appreciated through your actions.
• Be attentive. Offer your assistance before the guest has to ask for it.
• Provide excellent guest service and interact with our guests in a friendly and courteous manner
• Oversee set-up staff and set-up of events.
• Plan out daily time order of set up needs to ensure timely set up of functions.
• Consults with Conference Service Manager or Banquet Manager on such items room set up needs, changes, and specifics.
• Ensure proper maintenance of tables, linen, skirting, and other set-up equipment.
• Work with other set-up captains to track set-up inventory needs for upcoming functions.
• Supervise set up crew of up to 15 people, train new set up employees on job duties and standards for setups, counsel and reprimand employees as needed.
• Plans, assigns, and directs work among banquet employees.
• Addresses complaints and resolving problems.

Education:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Valid drivers license.
Basic Required Skills:
• Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
• Utilizes an “open door” policy, and reviews employee satisfaction results to identify and address employee problems or concerns.
• Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Strong leadership experience is a must for this position.
• May be required: to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form; to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Physical Demands:
• Work tasks are performed indoors as well as outdoors based on the event. Temperature will vary based on environmental conditions.
• Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 5 hours in length.
• Must be able to exert a well-paced ability to maneuver between functions occurring simultaneously.
• Must be able to lift items weighing up to 50 lbs. as needed.
• Occasionally lift and/or move, push or pull up to 200lbs.
• Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening, and hearing ability, and visual acuity.
• Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors, and other employees.
• Vision occurs continuously with the most common visual functions being those of near vision and depth perception.
• Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment.
