General Purpose:
Housekeeping Supervisor/Common Area Supervisor is an extension of the Area Manager when he/she is off. The Housekeeping Supervisor will oversee owner arrivals, timely completion of inspections of the entire area and any site visits or guest/owner correspondence that needs to take place.
Essential Duties:
- Unit inspections.
- Owner/Guest Communication.
- Group Arrival preparedness.
- VIP service inspections and final arrival inspections.
- Touch-up cleaning in units when necessary.
- Staff training, coaching recognition.
- Aid in setting standards within units.
- Participate in department meetings.
- Inventory of supplies.
- Creating of the boards when Area Manager is not present.
- Ownership of success of entire area when Area Manager is not present.
- Enforces compliance with administrative policies, procedures, safety rules, and governmental regulations.
- Ability to open and close their other duties as assigned.
Education:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required. Hospitality experience preferred.
Basic Required Skills:
- Supervisory or management experience
- Establishes and maintains open, collaborative relationships with employees and ensures employees do the same with them.
- Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
- Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Must have knowledge of Microsoft software such as Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Must be able to work with minimal supervision.
Physical Demands:
- Most work tasks are performed indoors. Temperature is moderate and controlled by the environmental systems.
- Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility
- Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, and stretch to fulfill cleaning tasks.
- Must be able to exert a well-paced ability to maneuver between functions occurring simultaneously.
- Must be able to lift items weighing up to 25-50 lbs. as needed.
- Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening, and hearing ability, and visual acuity.
- Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors, and other employees.
- Vision occurs continuously with the most common visual functions being those of near vision and depth perception.
- Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment.
