POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Associate Teacher assists the Teacher or Site Supervisor and assumes responsibility for child supervision and instruction as a part of a planned daily program in a manner that contributes to each child’s growth and development and is in compliance with District guidelines.
Requirements / Qualifications
12 or more college semester credits in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Youth/Adolescent Development, or a related field.
1-2 years of experience working with children ages 4-13 years old in an after school enrichment program (grades TK - 8th grade)
CPR and First Aid Certified
Must be in good health, able to lift 30 lbs. chest high, and pass a physical exam
Must be able to walk, squat, bend and stand; ability to move freely to supervise and engage in indoor and outdoor activities with children.
KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
Assist in planning and implementing developmentally appropriate curriculum directly connected to the needs and interests of the children.
Keep children safe and healthy through proper supervision, authentic interaction, and practicing good health habits.
Assist in creating exciting and enriched environments connected to curriculum and quality learning experiences.
Communicate regularly with parents to support, guide, and share in their child’s development.
Work collaboratively with other staff by practicing workplace values, flexibility, and being a team player.
Provide excellent customer service for families, school, community, and each other.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $22.60 - $32.11 per hour
Expected hours: 15 – 20 per week
