What are the responsibilities and job description for the Alumni Relations - Santa Margarita Eagle Foundation position at Santa Margarita Catholic High School?
Position Title: Alumni Relations
Job Classification: Non-exempt
Reports to: Executive Director
Pay Range: $28.00 - $32.00 per hour
Job Summary: Coordinate alumni events, activities and assist with engaging and involving alumni of SM. Participate and assist with foundation events. Increase alumni giving through the Foundations main fundraising avenues including Eagle Fund, Blue and Gold and Eagle Classic Golf Tournament.
Essential Functions:
- Develop, maintain and grow alumni programs to build and strengthen lifetime connections.
- Meet with 1-2 alumni prospects per week to cultivate or solicit for donations to assist with Foundation fundraising goals.
- Works with the Executive Director to recruit alumni Eagle Fund Class Captains and assist in executing our annual giving program with a focus on alumni.
- Plan and promote alumni events including Homecoming, Career Day, Class Reunions and other alumni social and networking events to promote the SMCHS family and the Foundation.
- Assist with Remembrance Mass – Coordinate alumni memorial components and execute the hospitality after mass for the alumni families that attend.
- Coordinate Annual Legacy Family Breakfast and Senior Alumni Stoles.
- Support the mission of Santa Margarita Catholic High School and the work of the Santa Margarita Eagle Foundation by being present at events.
- Coordinate alumni panel for review of the Eagle Alumni Scholarship.
- Publish WINGS magazine.
- Manage other printed materials regarding alumni as well as use of social media as a communication tool to engage with alumni using Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, email blasts, and LinkedIn.
- Manage Alumni website.
- Develop relationships with SMCHS senior students to engage them as young alumni and encourage and maintain SM relationships with them.
Other Responsibilities:
- Provide staff support for Foundation fundraisers and events including but not limited to Blue & Gold Gala, Eagle Classic Golf Tournament, New Parent Dinner, Appreciation Dinner, Grandparents Day and Scholarship Breakfasts.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with peers, staff, volunteers and the SM Community.
- Ability to effectively identify, analyze and solve problems.
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally, both orally and in writing, within the organization and with donors.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Windows and Office software; strong internet and email; social media communication skills required.
- Ability to appropriately preserve confidential matters and information.
- Willingness to contribute to the overall success of the Santa Margarita Eagle Foundation.
- SMCHS Alumni Preferred.
Work Schedule: This is a full-time (40 hours per week), 12-month position with benefits as outlined in the Employee Handbook. Evening and weekend meetings and events will be required.
