What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dental Treatment Coordinator position at Santa Maria Pediatric Dental Group?
We are looking for a dental treatment coordinator to be responsible for working with patients and parents to educate and thoroughly explain their dental treatment, as well as calculating and collecting treatment co-payments from patients. You should be proficient in using dental practice management software to update each patient’s file, run and monitor weekly and monthly treatment plan reports, and upload completed treatment plans, financial agreements and procedure protocols into patients’ electronic files.
Dental Treatment Coordinator Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate understanding of insurance benefits and financial agreements.
- Prepare, present and thoroughly explain treatment plans.
- Schedule patients based upon treatment plans.
- Collect patient co-payments.
- Patient check out.
- Answering phones.
- Complete pre-authorizations and referrals as appropriate for patients; gather all necessary information for claim processing.
- Ensure patients have a completed the appropriate financial consent forms, agreements and protocols per their treatment plan.
- Maintain patient records with strong attention to detail and adherence to HIPAA Privacy Practices.
- Ensure all medical clearances are completed adequately and in a timely manner.
- Must be able to comfortably and efficiently handle multiple deadlines and task assignments.
Dental Treatment Coordinator Requirements:
- High school degree, GED or related.
- Minimum of 1 year in a dentist office environment.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Proficient with data entry.
- Experience in dental practice management software.
- Microsoft Office experience.
- Knowledge of dental procedures and insurance billing codes.
- Team player attitude
- Ability to work full time Monday-Friday anywhere from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm
