A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A BILLER
As a vital part of our medical billing team, you're responsible for maintaining strict confidentiality and the data entry of billing claims. By analyzing encounter forms for quantity and completeness as well as performing accurate data entry, you prepare billing claims to expedite patient and third party payments. Furthermore, you compile daily individual productivity reports and perform daily balances ensuring that all discrepancies are notated and discussed with the team lead and/or management.
Additionally, you assist with entering diagnosis and procedure codes as well as updating additional data as requested and verifying insurance eligibility such as patient demographic information. You are happy to help with additional job-related tasks when asked. You are eager to work for a company that encourages teamwork to get the job done.
BILLER QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma/GED equivalent required
- Minimum of 1 year data entry experience
- Ability to accurately enter data at a high rate of speed
- Knowledge of computer operator functions including terminology and equipment
- Ability to perform the physical functions of this medical billing position, including viewing a terminal for long periods of time, prolonged sitting, as well as some bending, stooping, and stretching
Experience in a healthcare environment is preferred.
