Santee Physical Therapy has a P.T. Aide position available for full-time employment. Seeking availability on M-F. Entry-level position, no experience required. Compensation will be dependent on experience. Basic knowledge of anatomy recommended. Please respond with resume and references. Current Hours Needed - FULL TIME
P.T. Aide Job Description
1. Assist physical therapist(s) with the treatment of patients.
2. Assist the patient with therapeutic exercises to be performed in the clinic. P.T. aide must have knowledge of common therapeutic exercises used by the physical therapist(s) in the clinic. The P.T. aide must have the ability to train patients in these exercises.
3. Notify the therapist of any changes in the patient's symptoms during the treatment session, especially when performing exercises.
4. Properly set-up patients up on modalities such as ice packs, hot packs, electrical stimulation. Perform Ultrasound modality as prescribed by Physical Therapist. Ability to set-up mechanical traction for neck and low back patients.
5. Perform administrative duties as necessary.
6. Clean and tidy the clinic. Clean tables after each patient is done with his/her treatment to include wiping off the table with disinfectant and changing pillowcases.
7. Launder pillowcases and towels, keep the clinic appropriately stocked with pillowcases and towels. Fold the laundry accordingly.
8. Keep a tally on needed inventory and order as necessary to keep the clinic appropriately stocked.
9. Answer phones and schedule patients, as necessary when the front office is unable to do so. Appropriate phone skills/etiquette required.
10. Notify the physical therapist if any equipment is not functioning properly or demonstrates signs of wear that could lead to future failure.
11. Observe for patient safety at all times. Make sure all mobile equipment (stools, steps, balance devices) are picked up immediately after patient use. Clear out any equipment that may pose a fall or injury risk to patients.
