Bridges Alternative Education Program is a partnership between Sarah Reed Children's Center and Erie's Public Schools for grades 6-12. Aligned with PDE standards and based on the Sanctuary philosophy, our goals are to improve self-esteem, give new purpose and direction to education, and develop needed pro-social skills to help students to be more successful in their home schools. Staff members work collaboratively with parents to ensure a positive and impactful school experience. The Site Supervisor provides day-to-day leadership and guidance to the team, which includes behavior counselors, virtual and site-based instructors, and therapist. Duties and Responsibilities: *
1. Provide direct supervision of the Bridges AEP staff in coordination with the Director of Alternative Education and Community Programs.
2. Oversees and guides classroom activities to ensure academic services are delivered in a therapeutic manner.
3. Assist in the monitoring and compliance of PDE and Alternative Education guidelines.
4. Work closely with clinical and instructional staff to coordinate and ensure timely and accurate completion and distribution of student report cards to the District.
5. Coordinate student transitions with relevant school personnel.
6. Provide ongoing guidance and behavioral consultation to student's home school personnel in an effort to facilitate reintegration into an appropriate school environment.
7. Ensure all classrooms maintain adequate coverage as mandated by state and agency regulations.
8. Assist Support Staff in the general supervision of students experiencing behavioral concerns.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and/or Work Experience:
Bachelor's degree (B.A.) in related field from four-year college or university
Three years of experience working in an educational setting (preferred) with students requiring specialized educational and/or mental health services.
