The Sarasota Ballet’s Community Engagement programs include Dance – The Next Generation, Joyful Movement through Parkinson’s, Silver Swans®, School Performances & Programs, and Community Experiences.
The Program Administrator is a full-time exempt position integral to the Education department. The individual in this role will be an organized self-starter, passionate about dance education, and interested in attending to the administrative needs of Community Engagement while assisting with its youth community engagement program, Dance – The Next Generation.
Responsibilities:
Oversee administrative support for all Community Engagement programs in coordination with the Community Engagement Program Director. Assist the Program Manager of Dance – The Next Generation with daily operations for students from 3rd to 12th grade following the standards of The Sarasota Ballet and DNG.
Must have a flexible schedule with evening work required; weekend work as needed. Position mirrors Sarasota County Schools’ academic calendar: academic months up to 5 evenings per work week (until 8pm) and summer months are typically traditional work hours (9am-5pm).
Main duties include but are not limited to:
Administrative:
- Provide administrative support to all aspects of Community Engagement in coordination with Community Engagement Program Director & Education Director.
- Maintain timely and effective communication with Community Engagement students and families, community partners, as well as internal and external affairs.
- Support dance education programming in collaboration with Dance – The Next Generation Program Manager that supports DNG’s mission and values.
- Provide direct daily oversight of students and assisted support of program maintenance for Dance – The Next Generation.
- Create and maintain a welcoming, inclusive, supportive, and structured environment within all Community Engagement programs.
- Establish a relationship of respect and dignity with all Community Engagement students while honoring the needs of everyone.
- Assist with metrics and procedures to track measures of student success.
- Assist in maintaining accurate data and information regarding all aspects of the program.
- Safeguard the health and safety of all students.
- Keep track of and maintain supplies as needed.
- Additional duties as required.
Education & Qualifications
- Administrative experience in a not-for-profit or education environment.
- Experience overseeing a variety of ages in traditional and non-traditional learning environments.
- Ensure confidentiality with sensitive and confidential information.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to keep detailed records.
- Experience working with a wide demographic to include children, parents, and adults from diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to create a positive and inclusive atmosphere that facilitates an elevated level of learning.
- Passion for utilizing dance as a catalyst for change.
- Strong organization and communication skills; attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain poised under pressure and make sound decisions.

- Must successfully pass a grade 2 background check.
- Multi-lingual, especially Spanish a plus.
